On Saturday 9th April Morrisons store in Crowborough hosted two trustees from Home-start East Sussex. Derek and Maureen organised a tombola for customers assisted by Maureen’s grandchildren Cameron and Hamish. This was to raise funds for, and to increase awareness of our new Being Family service, which supports families with a baby under 12 months. Clients are supported with an online group and have the option of a volunteer who can support the family in the home, over the phone or meeting in community spaces.
The tombola offered a multitude of prizes to suit all ages and customers were exceedingly generous given the difficult times we are in. A total of £125 was raised. A great deal of fun was had by all on otherwise routine shopping trips, and even the weather was kind. A special thanks goes to Erin, Morrison’s Crowborough Community Champion, who supported us with organising this event.
Our first Being Family group will run in May 2022, places still available. To find out more Being Family.
