Welcome to Home Start East Sussex (Lotus from April 2024)

Home-Start East Sussex (new name Lotus from 1 April 2024) is a small, independent East Sussex based charity with a specialism in whole family domestic abuse support.  Although we primarily work with women, our aim is to work with the whole family to prevent domestic abuse and wider safeguarding issues, and aid victim-survivors on their journey to recovery.

Home Start East Sussex works one-to-one and in groups to support, encourage and develop the increased safety, confidence and independence of local families who have experienced adversity.

Our Services

We support families and victim/survivors of domestic abuse to build stronger, more resilient relationships, encouraging a more assertive approach to decision making, communication and feeling, and being in control of your own life:

Some of our Lotus domestic abuse recovery clients have been subjected to stalking. They disclose that they feel anxious, depressed, hypersensitive, afraid to go out, afraid to stay in, afraid to answer the phone or afraid to open letters. These feelings often remain long after the stalking behaviour stops. One of our Lotus domestic abuse recovery group sessions examines stalking, identifying examples and talking about experiences and reporting.
