A HUGE thank you to to Sue our lovely, cheerful and endlessly patient volunteer, who helps in the office every week to help with the admin overload. She is retired but has worked for Mind and Cafcass and in social housing. We’re not quite sure what we would do without her.
As many people already know, our funding from East Sussex County Council ceased at the end of March due to budget cuts. We are endeavouring to maintain a reduced home visiting service during 2016 while we look for longer term funding elsewhere. We were really pleased to receive an award for Health and Wellbeing Achievement at the Spark Awards 16. The event was sponsored by East Sussex Fire and Rescue and took place on 10th May at the Winter Garden in Eastbourne. A massive thank you to all our fabulous volunteers.
Home-Start East Sussex were delighted to receive an award on behalf of all the hard working volunteers, in recognition of service to others in the community at the Unsung Hero Awards which were presented by Councillor Ruth O’Keefe MBE, Chair of Lewes District Council.
It was a bitter-sweet day for Home-Start East Sussex on 18th March when they celebrated the end of their training course for volunteers with the Mayor of Battle Cllr Margaret Kiloh and Rother District Councillor Sally Ann Hart.
